Trendfinder Trading Systems

Well, it’s no fun to have another losing day, but it happens.  Today was a very narrow choppy day that had no direction to it.  All systems went short this morning and had nice profits till the market turned around and tried to move higher…which failed as well.  I’m looking forward to this market having intraday direction again!

Today had a very small range with choppy, consolidating price action.  Typical of August and not good for trend-following systems.  The lack of follow-through in either direction led to small losses across the board.

I have some new systems that will be coming out next month that are doing much better than those below in this low volatility environment.  But, when volatility returns to the markets the systems below should do very well in my opinion.

Only 1 trade today, and it was a profitable one.

Back in the green today.  3 nice winners and 1 flat trade (+10 before commission and slippage added).  Volatility (measured by average intraday range) may be on its way back up – it has at least stopped going down.  Trendfinder’s systems will probably start being very profitable over the next few months – of course only time will tell.

Three systems positioned themselves long this morning but the market just went sideways the rest of the day leading to small losses.

Today was pretty much a copy of Tuesday.  All systems lost.  Can’t wait to release the new systems I’m working on – they are holding up much better then the strats below in these low volatility trading periods.
